The Sportpaleis in Antwerp is a multifunctional event hall where various events are organized, such as concerts, sports events, parties and trade fairs. Originally the building was meant for sports competitions (especially track cycling), but these days there is little space left. The room originally had 13,400 seats and also a capacity on the middle square of 1,780 (seats) to 5,000 (standing) people. The maximum capacity of the Sportpaleis was therefore 18,400 places. In the summer months of 2011, 2012 and 2013, a series of renovations were made each time so that the hall could no longer be used as a racing track, the hall now offers 23,359 seats.
